Ya‛aqoḇ (James) 5:13 (TS2009)

“Is any of you suffering evil? Let him pray. Is anyone in good spirits? Let him sing psalms.”

Did you know that the word sing appears about 100 times in the Scriptures? That must mean it’s important, right?

When I think of sing, I think of praise. Interestingly, the word praise appears about 200 times in the Scriptures! We know that when Scripture repeats something frequently, it emphasizes its significance.

In Ya‛aqoḇ (James) 5:13, we see that if we are in good spirits, we should sing. In other words, when we feel joy, our natural response should be to praise Him! But even in difficult times, we should still choose to praise and be thankful—because true joy is more than just fleeting happiness.

The passages from Yirmeyahu (Jeremiah) and Shemoth (Exodus) highlight singing as an expression of thankfulness. Singing to יהוה is a way to praise Him for His goodness, deliverance, and wonders.

In summary: Sing songs of thankfulness to our Elohim, the Creator of all things. Praise Him for all His wonders—always!

I hope this brings you encouragement and joy.
Keep singing!
