These articles are meant to provoke thoughtful reflection. They encourage us to ponder our relationship with these words and motivate us to adopt righteous or 'right' thinking, which aligns with the perspective of Yahuah.
To sow, to plant, to scatter, to set something in motion—what does this look like for you? What are you sowing in your life’s field to prepare for eternity with, or perhaps without, Yahuah? Sowing is often more easily understood in the context of farming or gardening. When you sow seeds into prepared soil and you have taken care to enrich the ground with good nutrients, beneficial bacteria, and a balanced mix of clay, sand, and compost, you will likely see a good return on your investment. First, you enrich the soil to prepare it for the seeds. Once the soil is ready and the temperature is right, you can sow your seeds, making sure to place them at the appropriate depth for protection while they germinate. However, your work is not done at this point. Sowing a seed and reaping fruit does not always happen automatically. The seed must be nurtured and consistently cared for to grow strong and bear fruit. If the nutrients are properly balanced and growth is encouraged, the seed will yield an abundance of fruits!
In the same manner, we must cultivate our hearts towards Yah. We need to examine our hearts (the soil) closely and determine what needs to be amended (fruits of the spirit), broken up (hard soil), or removed (rocks).
James 1:22-25 states: "And become doers of the Word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. Because if anyone is a hearer of the Word and not a doer, he is like a man who looks at his natural face in a mirror; for he looks at himself and goes away, and immediately forgets what he was like. But he who looks into the perfect Torah, that of freedom, and continues in it—not becoming a hearer that forgets, but a doer of work—this one shall be blessed in his doing of the Torah."
As we read the Scriptures, which provide us the instructions for LIFE (Torah), it is our responsibility to examine our hearts and identify what does not align with His Word, His instructions for LIFE, and to remove it! We then need to add the necessary amendments: patience, shalom (peace), being slow to speak, and gentleness, so our hearts are ready to receive His Truth, which will bring life (fruit) to us in our natural and spiritual bodies. Take the challenge today: examine yourself in light of the Torah, the Word of Elohim, the Truth. Identify what needs to be removed or broken up and consciously choose to sow righteousness in its place. As you do this, Yahuah will bring His righteousness upon you.
I was struck by the words in Hosea 10:12:
"Sow for yourselves righteousness, reap according to loving commitment; break up your tillable ground. It is time to seek יהוה until He comes and rains righteousness on you."
It does not matter what yesterday was like; Today, if you will hear His voice, turn/repent, and walk in His ways, you will be on the path to sowing righteousness for yourself. You can then wait with anticipation for Him to fulfill His promises, for He is trustworthy (Hebrews 10-11).
Shalom
